A year-round program matching experienced fathers with dads seeking support, guidance, or just a listening ear. Mentors meet regularly with mentees, sharing insights about parenting, communication, and personal growth.

Outcomes:

Eligibility & How to Join:

• Open to all fathers—new dads, seasoned parents, and guardians
• Fill out a brief application to be matched with a mentor or mentee
• Virtual and in-person options available

Periodic gatherings where expert speakers, community leaders, and experienced dads present on topics like positive discipline, conflict resolution, work-life balance, and more.

Each late May or early June, we host a retreat in Port Clinton, Ohio, where fathers come together for a walleye fishing excursion. Alongside the fun of fishing, we facilitate group discussions on fatherhood, community engagement, and personal development.

Outcomes:

• Unplug, relax, and bond with fellow fathers in a supportive environment
• Participate in meaningful dialogue about fatherhood challenges and successes
• Return home refreshed, motivated, and equipped with new perspectives

Eligibility & How to Register:

• Open to fathers from all walks of life; some spots available for those needing extra support or financial assistance
• Sign-up typically opens in early spring on our website
• Basic fishing gear is provided; participants are welcome to bring personal equipment

Hosted in Troy, Ohio each September, this golf outing blends friendly competition with fatherhood-focused activities and discussions. The day includes golf, mentorship opportunities, and small-group conversations.

Outcomes:

• Network with other dads and mentors to strengthen community ties
• Engage in open forums on parenting, marriage, and stress management
• Support SBFM’s fundraising efforts to expand our educational and mentorship programs

• All skill levels welcome—no prior golfing experience needed
